October 2008

Little late because I haven’t had internet access or a working phone for a little bit but here’s a little tidbit from the Aitken benefit in Hyde Park, MA last Saturday.  Rory was killing it and took the prize in the long jump comp.  His court date in NY for his little arrest debacle during the mega tour trip was the next day, and from the sound of things, it went pretty well.  Fuck the man.

(snaked from timelessbmx.com…33 feet!)

It is a sad day for persons with a sense of humor everywhere as we have lost a true legend in the field of comedy, Rudy Ray Moore, AKA: Dolemite. If you’ve never seen any of the Dolemite movies, do you yourself a favor and get them a look. You can find them on the internet or even rent them from Netflix. I won’t go into too much detail on what to expect, other than that they are some of the best blacksploitation films to ever hit the screen, but take a look for yourself. Believe me, you won’t be disappointed.

Best wishes go out to the OG homie and team member Tim “TK” Culhane, who is making the move out to the golden shores of Barcelona, Spain. While we are gonna miss you around here, it’s gonna give all the rest of us even more of an excuse to take a trip across the pond, so it ain’t all bad.

(N/H we promise)
Also, go on over the DIG WEBSITE and check out scrubby Cubby’s new blog over there. His first article for the mag on the Lotek SF shit is gonna be out in the next issue i believe is well. Oh ya, and the dude also got bumped up onto the LOTEK squad. The hits just keep on comin’. Congrats on all the above, dude.

AND….big props to Kurtis on winning meet the street over the weekend. Fucks wit it.

Sorry for the lack of posts lately. Unfortunately drug addiction is an ugly beast and often times affects many more people than the user themselves. Case in point, the burglarly of my apartment and subsequent theft of my laptop by a one Patrick D. Murray, to support his drug habit and to bail his twin brother and partner in crime out of jail for grand theft and possession of stolen goods charges.
Fortunately, most everything Franchise related, ie photos and footage was all backed up, save for a couple new T-shirt designs, which unfortunately have to be redone and is gonna push the release of the fall/winter line back a little bit. Luckily as well, homeowner’s insurance came through in the clutch and a new computer is on it’s way. Getting all that lost software again is gonna be a real pain in the ass though.
So long story short, down…not out. Not now, not never. And if any of you that ride around the city, and you see the fellow in the left of the photo below, you know what to do. A healthy dose of street justice is in order for this deadbeat. He can be often found by the steps at 6th and Market where the bike messengers hang out around lunch, he works near the Transamerica building, and after hours, may be found near 16th and Mission, the TL, or anywhere else dope can be copped. Keep your eyes peeled…
