April 2008

Apparently the SPRFLS blog has been around for a little while now. It managed to slip under my radar (which isn’t surprising), but I guess it’s been on the come up, so no doubt all of you have most likely seen it. Perhaps one of the most cynical, but accurate views of the current state of this veritable circus show we call BMX. Give it a look and have a couple good laughs. Seen on The Last People (which has a sweet feature on former PA Hunk House resident Joe Saksa), via my personal favorite BMX website AXELRAD.

ps: Oh ya, and if you haven’t seen/purchased the new Metal video, get that shit immediately. Worth every penny, the best video of the year, hands down.

If you’re one of those bike riders who think that skateboarding is gay because all skaters are assholes and they kick you out of parks and complain about you chunking ledges and denting coping etc. then stop reading now and go get over it. If you appreciate skating for what it is (the same thing we do with a couple more wheels) and wanna get fuckin’ psyched, watch this Epicly Later’d episode on Nor-Cal skate legend John Cardiel on the VICE magazine site. This one has 16 parts, but believe me, watching them all will not leave you disappointed. Enjoy.

So, i’ve been back east for the last week visiting my lady and waiting for the Circuit BMX first anniversary party tonight.  Photos of debauchery to come soon.  I took a little visit up to the trails in NH the other day, and i was stunned.  That’s right, these guys are riding trails in New Hampshire before April 20th.  There’s not a single leaf on any trees and when digging, you still hit a patch of ice here and there.  Huge apes to say the very least.  They’ve been hard at work on some crazy new lines and set ups and are in for a hell of a season.  I must say i’m just a little bit jealous.  Good work fellas. Here’s some disposable pics of the trails and the Shit Shack:

Well, I can’t complain. I know we got it pretty good up here in Northern Cali with the unseasonably mild and dry winter season we’ve been having, but for all you kids out there living somewhere with shit weather, waiting for the dirt to thaw out so you can stick a shovel in it, this one’s for you. Check out this little vid that homie Cambridge from the UK put together, featuring footage from his and Pete’s trails, the infamous Robbo Robinson’s spot, and clips of some PA clay shredding. It takes a little while to get going, but sit the through the cinematography (which is excellent in and of itself) and you will be handsomely rewarded:

On another note, printed up some more crew sweaters and even some hoodies too. So, check back in a couple days on the goods page for those.

As you can probably tell from the front page, we dialed in some new product photos and a paypal cart so you guys can pick up some of the new shit. Crews and new hoodies will be up in the mix shortly. Also, posted up profiles for Kyle, Kenton and Manface, so check those out.
We’ve finally gotten a peek at Kyle’s lopro in the new Dig and it’s pretty sick. Go pick up a copy.
And if you’re in the bay area this weekend, don’t forget to hit up the jam in Oakland on Sunday.
