Jackson and Eddie have been out here in NYC filming some shit. We got to meet up with Edwin and ride some shit in the grimy hoods in Brooklyn, including a ridiculous, skatepark-esque bank spot in the courtyard of some projects in Bed Stuy. Then we got into some nightlife and rode from spot to spot in the pouring rain. Eddie was blown away at the existence of several “buy a drink, get a free pizza” at bars in Brooklyn. Indeed, heaven does exist…

Ivers, truth.Ah yes, the bike route. Out of work, injured and high on drugs. That’s the kind of career path I can work with…

 

We’re baaack

Ok guys, it’s been a great summer. Real busy you know? Everyone has done a fair amount of traveling and lots of riding and shits been good. Tim is moving back to the states from Spain soon, I moved to NYC and went on a cross country trip, and Jake grew a gnarly beard, but shaved it off b/c he thought he was nervous about looking suspicious while riding at schoolyards with kids present. Interbike was a shit show and Nor Cal was representing to the fullest.
Big plans for the upcoming months including a new website layout, some new shirts and editing work on a full length video, so keep your eyes peeled. For now here’s a bunch of photos from the past little while.

Shitty?

…na not really, but goodbyes can be bittersweet. In this case, our dear homie Zac Costa has moved on to the rowdy streets of Richmond, VA and the joined the even rowdier company of the SHITLUCK squad. No bitterness here however, we’re all homies and shit’s kool and the gang. Zac will have plenty of opportunities to get some shine time with those guys out there, so we’re hyped for him and wish him the best of luck.

Sad news to report. Our good friend Tim Maguire has had a string of bad luck lately. As if a broken hand wasn’t enough, he had an incident the other night where he wrecked on the bike and hit his head real bad. He was found on the street bleeding from his head, ambulance, ICU, induced coma, the whole nine yards. Tim is stable and is feeling ok, but since being out of work with his broken hand, he doesn’t have any insurance to cover what will most likely be astronomical hospital bills.

THIS SATURDAY the bicycle film festival will be in SF at the Vic at 16th and Capp. We’l have a tent set up, selling shirts with all profits going to help Tim out. There’s gonna be a jam there too, so come out and shred, have some fun, cop some dope new threads and come support the homie…

As you can see from the front page, we’ve bumped up Bob from the flow team. Wait to you see the work this kid has been in lately. Straight killin it. We’re looking forward to the future’s got in store with this dude right here.

Did you miss me?

Hey guys. I’m sorry, i know we haven’t spoken in awhile, but we’ve all been real busy over here with summer and all that comes with it. Be it working, riding, traveling, partying, swimming, smoking, joking, midnight toking…we’ve been doing it all. You’ll notice surfing (as in the web) was not in there. This is summer kiddos, and i don’t know about you, but the last thing i wanna do sit in front of a soul sucking computer screen, reading what someone else has to say while life outside is passing me by…but hey, that’s just me.

Things be happenin’ fo real tho… Lots of filming and riding, and rad shit like that. Cubby and Bob have been on a mission lately, Sean just got back from the FBM gypsy tour with the Circuit BMX team, Jake has been staying up in Seattle and Vancouver for the past couple months getting down, and Zac is getting ready for a move to Richmond, VA to get his masters. Yes, busy bees indeed.

Get down with the sickness…

Zac has made it back to American soil safe and sound. He said at the airport in Mexico, there was a crazy machine that could scan your body and measure your temperature with an accuracy of +/- 2 degrees. Zac Costa signature respirator masks coming soon…?

Oh and the new issue of DIG is out from what I’ve heard, we’re shining pretty fuckin’ hard in the Costa Rica article. I’m off to go pick up a copy myself…

 

Celb sightings…

Spring has sprung and the birds are out. Proof comes from a sighting of Sarah Jessica Parker at the coffee shop by Colby Kanawah, followed by Jake meeting Drew Barrymore in the checkout line he works at Whole Foods, while she purchased nothing but a box of tampons. No comment as to whether they were jumbo size or not…
oh ya and Steven Spielberg came into Cubby’s bike shop to get meter change to park his Porsche.
